A snowy family Christmas break
Enjoy lavish seven night breaks for Christmas in the picturesque region of the Iso-Syöte, a snow-covered wonderland which is one of the supreme locations in Finland for winter sports. To ensure a traditional festive atmosphere during your Christmas adventure week you will be staying in one of our enchanting log cabins.
Iso-Syöte is often referred to as the gateway to Lapland and boasts some of the heaviest snowfall in Finland. Throughout your Christmas adventure week a deep, crisp snow covers the beautiful scenery, making it the ideal destination for unforgettable breaks. Close to the hotel you will find extensive downhill ski slopes, a snowboard street, half pipes and a snow tube run, perfect for both children and adults alike. The pristine fell region is great for beginners and cross country skiers, with miles of well-kept trails starting just outside the hotel.
Please note that a valid driving licence is required to drive a snowmobile.
Day 1 -
UK Departure 23rd December

Fly from the UK to Finland. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your festive log cabin. The start of your Christmas Adventure Week has begun.

Day 2 -
24th December Snowmobile Safari to Wilderness
|
The first full day of your Christmas Adventure Week starts with a snowmobile safari. The safari sets out from the hotel where your snowmobiles will be lined up waiting for you. The track goes downhill, over hills and fells, through the forest and over ice-covered swamps and lakes. You will stop to enjoy a warm drink before heading back up the Iso-Syöte hill.

Day 4 -
26th December Free Day and Northern Lights Safari
|
Today you will have plenty of time to relax among the stunning surroundings or if your prefer to join in some optional activities, we can arrange that for you. At night time we drive under the starlit sky and hopefully get a glimpse of the incredible Northern Lights. We will take a break on our journey to enjoy coffee around a campfire.

Day 5 -
27th December Snowshoe Hiking
|
Today on our Christmas Adventure Week you will be given personal instructions on how to use the snowshoes. You will hike through the deep snow covering the tops of the Iso-Syöte, enjoying the views and beautiful snow sculptures made by nature. During a break the guide will provide a hot drink and cookies for you. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 6 -
28th December Old Fashioned Reindeer Farm
|
On the Christmas Adventure Week you will get the chance to visit a traditional reindeer farm. The herder will teach you all about these indigenous animals that are so important to Finnish culture, the history of the farm and the local traditions. You will also experience a reindeer-drawn sleigh ride across the pristine wilderness.

Day 7 -
December Ranua Zoo and Santa Village
|
One of the highlights of the Christmas Adventure Week is a trip to Ranua Zoo and Santa Village which departs from the hotel. At the Ranua Wildlife Park you will see many animals that inhabit the Arctic including polar bears, brown bears, lynx, wolverine and deer. There are also many different birds of prey such as eagles, owls and hawks. After visiting the wildlife park on your Christmas Adventure Week you will head to the magical Santa Village in Rovaniemi. You and your children will be able to meet Santa Claus at his home within the Arctic Circle. Both of these excursions are a great day out for the family. (Additional cost for entrance to the zoo)

Day 8 -
30th December Return Flight

After your action-packed Christmas Adventure Week at the Iso-Syöte it is time to say goodbye and transfer to the airport for your flight home.
