Day 1 -
Arrival (28th Dec)

Fly to Kajaani airport and transfer to the luxurious Hotel Kalevala (approximately 1.5 hours). On arrival enjoy a welcome drink and a delicious dinner in the hotel’s excellent restaurant.

Day 2 -
Day for huskies, horse sleigh and snowmobiles
|
After breakfast meet your New Year host who will tell you all about the special New Year programme and the optional activities. During the day you will enjoy taster rides of horse sleigh, short husky, reindeer and snowmobile. Hot juice will be served bay an open fire. Light lunch and your afternoon is free for optional activities. Evening sauna with jacuzzi and dinner.

Day 3 -
Snow shoe tour and New Year decorations

After breakfast 2- 3 hours snow shoe tour along the forest and lake, including hot juice. A light lunch is served around midday, after which the children will make New Year decorations with a guide or you can spend the afternoon on optional excursions. After dinner relax in the hotel’s bar or the sauna.

Day 4 -
New Years Eve
|
After breakfast spend the morning on a 2 hour snowmobile safari, 15 - 20 km tour 2 persons per snowmobile. A light lunch will be served.
In the afternoon there is a Fairytale Christmas tour, where children taken on a Christmassy walk along a forest trail by Santa’s elves. There will be many surprises along the trail which is lit by ice candles and open fires. In Santa’s enchanting workshop you will see the elves working hard and can assist then in baking ginger bread cookies and Christmas decorations. Later it will be time to gather in the Forest Lodge where you will enjoy hot drinks and hear Christmas tales from the elves. Here you will see your children’s faces will glow in excitement when they meet Father Christmas.
The New Years Eve celebrations at the Hotel Kalevala include tin casting by the fireplace and the chance to learn what the New Year will bring from “Mrs Fortune Teller”. The next stage of the festivities is a lavish New Year gala dinner, where you can enjoy good food and company. During the feast Father Christmas will visit, providing entertainment for the children. Just before midnight the party moves into the winter garden where you can enjoy the countdown and dazzling fireworks display. Afterwards gather back inside where the party will continue with music and dancing until the early hours.

Day 5 -
New Years Day
|
Wake up for breakfast/brunch served until 1pm before spending the morning enjoying optional activities or resting. After lunch and your evening sauna you will be transferred by bus to the Kuhmo Arts Centre for a New Years Concert. Afterwards transfer back to the hotel for dinner.

Day 6 -
Day for Optional Activities
|
Today is free for optional activities, shopping and relaxing. Light lunch. After dinner outside by the fireplace coffee, tea or juice will be served. Later in the evening you will hear a story based on Finnish National Epic Kalevala of the Sampo rite.( the unknown thing which brough a lot of happiness and richness to the people in the land) This is told by the Kalevala Shaman and during the rite you will get one piece of this Sampo - what this piece could bring to you, you will find out after the Shaman has gone.

Day 7 -
Depart from Finland (3rd January)

After breakfast transfer to Kajaani airport for your return flight.
