Spend your New Year at the Lapland Igloo Village where you have the opportunity to see the majestic Northern Lights in all their glory. This spectacular New Year Holiday has been tailor made to make this a journey of a lifetime with all the added excursions included for you. You will spend your evening in a typical Finnish log cabin with the option to spend one night of your tour in a glass igloo which has a panoramic view of the night sky and an excellent way to view the Aurora Borealis.
All drivers of a snowmobile must have a fully valid driving licence in order to take part in the tour
Day 1 -
Arrive in Finland

After your arrival at Ivalo airport you will be transferred to the Lapland Igloo Village for your first night in a log cabin with its own sauna and fireplace.

Day 2 -
Reindeer excursion followed by New Year's Eve
|
After breakfast you will be taken to the reindeer farm to enjoy a reindeer sleigh ride. Relax in your sauna before joining the celebrations at 20.00 hours in the log restaurant. The menu includes various Finnish and Lappish delicacies. Festive dressing is desirable for the dinner to celebrate and greet the New Year. Please take some thermal clothes with you because the midnight's program is partly outside.
A traditional custom in Finland is predicting the future by casting molten tin into a container of water and interpreting the shape the metal takes after hardening. For a festive end to the old year, the fireworks will lighten the dark skies of Lapland. To greet the New Year, we will have a toast with sparkling wine.
After this cheerful event we go back to the warm restaurant to enjoy more drinks with friends in front of an open fire. In the small hours a plateau of cheese will be served.

Day 3 -
Evening snowmobile safari in search of the Northern Lights
|
After the festivities of the previous evening, today is yours to either relax or take one of the optional activities that are available. In the evening you will have a short introduction to the snowmobiles (a valid driving is required to drive)and then you will set off in search of the elusive Northern Lights.

Day 4 -
Husky Safari
|
After breakfast meet a team of friendly husky dogs who are waiting to take you on a dogsled adventure. These dogs are well suited to the harsh arctic conditions end enjoy pulling you along in the sledge. This is the night you have the option to sleep in a glass igloo and view the Aurora if you are lucky enough for them to appear.

Day 5 -
Transfer to Airport
|
After a leisurely breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your return flight.
