There is plenty of snow in Saariskela at Christmas time and the Hotel Kakslauttanen offers top class opportunities for all winter activities for children and well as adults. Winter sleighs are free to use by everyone and the illuminated skiing trails begin from the front yard. You can also take one of the options guided excursions to complete your Lapland Christmas holiday.

Day 1 -
Arrive in Ivalo (23rd Dec)

Arrive at Ivalo airport in Lapland, where you will be met and transferred to your log cabin with its own sauna and fireplace.

Day 2 -
Christmas program (24th Dec)

9.00-10.30 Christmas Breakfast
10.30 Depart for the trip to look for the Christmas tree in sledges pulled by snowmobiles
13.00-15.00 Lunch and decoration of the Christmas Tree Christmas sauna in your own cosy log cabin
16.30-18.00 Departure for the Christmas Eve service at Tieva chapel (2km from the hotel)
19.00 A typical Finnish Christmas Eve Dinner Festive dressing is desirable
20.30 The one and only Santa Claus comes with his reindeer sleigh to gove the presents and listen to children's songs. Everybody can bring their own presents with them and Santa will give them personally.

Christmas Day in Lapland (25th Dec)

Today you will be able to partake in one or more of the optional guided excursions on offer.

Transfer from the hotel to the airport for your return flight home.
